Aaron Jay Young’s two passions – psychology and photography – are paired together in this highly personal life-long series of self-portraits. The images reveal a conflicted religious upbringing and a highly energetic search of self as he lays bare the essence of one man’s search of both internal and external identity in a world still defining what is acceptable and not acceptable in terms of gender and love. The physical body strength he displays is most often in direct conflict with a hyper-sensitivity that is the common trademark of a true artist.
